Improved Meyer Lemon Semi-Dwarf Tree — Patio & Yard Ready
The Improved Meyer lemon is the citrus Calabasas patios were made for — glossy evergreen, fragrant white bloom, and juicy golden fruit that is sweeter and less puckery than Eureka. Our trees are grafted on semi-dwarf rootstock and ship as compact Primo plants ready to step up into a 10–14" pot or a sunny hillside pocket.
Why it thrives here: USDA zones 8–11 with protection below 32°F. Conejo Valley and Hidden Hills microclimates (roughly 9b–10a) suit Meyers year-round when you give them full sun, good drainage, and a frost cloth for rare cold snaps.
- Self-fertile — one tree is enough
- Nearly year-round bloom and fruit; heaviest crop in winter
- Mature ~8–12 ft in ground; 6–8 ft in containers with pruning
- Virus-free California "Improved" clone
Fall planting tip: October–November roots establish while soils are still warm — ideal before winter rains. Water deeply, less often; mulch, keep mulch off the trunk.
