Black Mission Fig Tree — California Favorite

Black Mission is the fig most Californians picture — purplish-black skin, strawberry-colored pulp, rich berry-sweet flavor fresh or dried. Trees are long-lived and vigorous but take pruning well for estate gardens and large containers.

• Zones 8–10; self-fruitful
• Light breba crop + heavy late main crop
• Unpruned 15–30 ft; keep smaller with winter pruning

Fall is prime planting time across Conejo Valley. Full sun and sharp drainage; mulch, but keep mulch off the trunk.
