Santa Rosa is the plum California home orchards are built around — reddish-purple skin, amber flesh tinged red, sweet with a tart-skin kick. Low chill (~300 hours) suits Conejo Valley winters, and it is self-pollinating (and helps pollinate other Japanese plums).
