Hass Partner — Bacon Avocado Tree (5 Gallon, Type B)

Bacon is the cool-season avocado many SoCal gardens plant beside Hass. Smooth green fruit, upright habit, and better cold tolerance make it a smart Type B partner for Conejo Valley microclimates that see occasional frost.

• Type B; excellent cross-pollinator for Hass
• Typical season roughly September–January
• Tolerates temperatures into the mid-20s°F better than many Guatemalan types

Plant in fall on a mound if drainage is imperfect. Mulch, keep the trunk dry, and shield young bark from intense afternoon sun.
